Collect with AR Directions

Wat Phra That Phu Sang is a community temple of the Maha Nikaya order, in Phu Sang sub-district. The stupa stands on a hilltop, reached by a stretch of naga stairway; but once you are on the terrace, the park forest and the rice fields below open up in every direction.

The district’s own name, Phu Sang, is bound up with this hill. Local people regard the stupa as the guardian of the town, and the annual homage festival in the sixth Lanna month (around March) brings the whole district together.

Highlights

  • A 360-degree view from the stupa terrace
  • Naga stairway to the summit
  • Annual homage festival at the stupa
Local tip

Dress respectfully, and come up before nine — the steps get hot in the afternoon.
