What we keep
This site was built to make travelling fun, not to track anyone. Below is everything we keep, and why.
Necessary — cannot be turned off
- Session cookie (PHPSESSID)
- Lasts until you close the browser. It remembers that you are signed in and protects forms from forgery.
- Traveller ID (phusang_traveller)
- A random string kept for 2 years. It ties the points, stamps and coins you collect to this device — without it, everything is lost the moment you close the page.
Optional — can be turned off
- Interactive film viewing statistics
- Did you watch to the end, which path did you take, where did you stop — used only to improve the content. If you turn this off the film still plays in full; we simply do not record your choices.
Outside services this site calls
This page does not load everything from our own server — fonts, icons and map imagery come from outside providers, which meansyour browser talks to their servers directly and they see your IP address without us sending it to them. Here is the complete list — nothing beyond this.
Your browser loads the font files straight from Google’s servers, so Google sees your IP address and browser type
The icon files are loaded from Flaticon’s CDN, so that provider also sees your IP address
Map tiles are fetched one at a time as you pan, so the provider sees your IP and the area of the map you are looking at
If you would rather your browser never contacted these services, use a script blocker or your browser’s tracking-protection mode. The main content still reads fine — only the fonts and icons fall back to defaults, and the map will not draw.
What we do not do
- No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers
- We never sell or pass your data to anyone
- GPS is used only at check-in. We store only the spots where a check-in succeeded, never your route in between.
- The colour tone you pick stays on your own device and is never sent to the server
