Doi Chom Dao (Stargazing Ridge)
The northernmost ridge in the district — a full sky of stars at night, a sea of mist at dawn.
Doi Chom Dao lies at the far north of Phu Sang District, along the border ridge — a place almost untouched by town light, so on a clear night the Milky Way and a sky full of stars are visible to the naked eye.
As dawn comes, a sea of mist usually lies still in the valley below, set against the ridgeline on the Lao side: a morning worth getting up at five for.
